Santa Paula FFA member Caitlin Held (above) is donating the money from the auction of her goat “George Lopez” to charity. Her goat brought $15 a pound at the Junior Livestock Auction, giving her a total of $1,260. The donation to Friends of the Ventura County Fair will be made in memory of Larry Loughman. She said she’s doing it because of his support of the livestock auction. “Every year he came to the fair and bought lots of animals,” she said. “He supported all the kids. He would walk around and talk to the kids with animals. He had done so much here I thought it would be a good idea to show some thanks to him.” The money will go towards renovating buildings, bathrooms and grounds at the fairgrounds. This was her fourth year at the fair. Her parents are Craig and Denise Held of Santa Paula.
