Lady Cards maintain first-place tie with close win over Carpinteria

(Photo above left) Veronica Garcia rips the ball towards home plate in last Thursday’s game. Santa Paula won the contest 9-8. It was a battle from start to finish. Carpinteria led for much of the game, but the Lady Cards came through in their final at-bat to win. This left Santa Paula still tied with Fillmore for first place in the Frontier League. The Lady Cardinals play their final game at home tomorrow against Bishop Diego at 3:30 p.m. (Above right) Jasmine Rodriguez slides into third base in the Carpinteria varsity contest.
