(Photo above left) Aryanna Retes, age 4, daughter of April Retes, has her hair cut last week at Tisa’a Salon. Aryanna had about 12 inches of her hair cut by Tisa Grant. The hair will be donated to Locks of Love. (Below left) Aryanna was all smiles as Tisa Grant not only cut her hair, she also had it curled and blown dry.

Her hair was donated to Locks of Love. Marissa had about 10 inches of her hair cut. (Below right) Marissa was still nervous after having her hair cut. One of her biggest concerns was she might not be able to put her hair in a ponytail. Following the haircut she was able to put her hair in a ponytail. (Photos by Don Johnson)

Young Santa Paulans donate hair to Locks of Love

Marissa Ramos, age 10, and Aryanna Retes, age 4, cousins, recently got a very special haircut from Tisa Grant at Tisa’s High Performance salon. Both girls donated their hair to “Locks of Love.”
Locks of Love is a nonprofit organization that uses donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics for financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss (including cancer-related treatments). The prostheses helps to restore the children’s’ self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.
Locks of Love accepts 10-inch minimum length (tip to tip) of clean, dry hair, bundled into a ponytail or braid. For more information, visit their web site at http://www.locksoflove.org.
