A report of a possible fight at Mill Park ended with the arrest of three juveniles who were stopped by Santa Paula Police nearby, according to a SPPD spokesman.
The April 25 incident started at about 8:30 p.m. when the SPPD received a report of a possible fight at the park, located on Santa Paula/Ojai Road, said Lieutenant Mike Saviers. The caller said they could hear fighting and glass breaking, and Sergeant Robert Cooper and Officers Hector Ramirez and Matt Alonso responded to the scene.
The officers were unable to find anyone when they arrived on scene, but about a minute later, after they cleared the call, they stopped a group of people on the 600 block of North Oak Street, less than a block, said Saviers, from the park. Officer Jeremy Watson also responded to North Oak Street, and it was discovered that the two of the juveniles that were stopped - two 16-year-old males and a 17-year-old female - were violating probation.
They were arrested, as was a third juvenile, for suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Saviers said that the names of those arrested, all Santa Paula residents, cannot be released due to their status as juveniles.
