United Water Conservation District’s own Dana Wisehart was presented with the 12th annual Richard V. Laubacher Water Conservation Award at the Association of Water Agencies of Ventura County’s annual Water Symposium on April 17th in Oxnard.
United Water Conservation District created the award in 1997 to recognize leaders in the area of water conservation, and named it after Richard V. Laubacher, a longtime United Director and a leader in water issues in Ventura County. The award is voted upon by United’s seven-member Board of Directors.
This year the United Board presented the award to its own General Manager, Dana Wisehart, who has announced her retirement in October. Ms. Wisehart joined United in 1997 as Deputy General Manager, and she was named General Manager in March 2000.
In presenting the award, United’s President, Bruce Dandy, noted that during Dana’s tenure as General Manager she has been instrumental in bringing about the current atmosphere of cooperation and progress relative to Ventura County water issues. Her leadership has been key to many local water efforts, working toward long-term, lasting solutions.
