After receiving his degree in Mathematics, David Hynum was looking to a promising future as an engineer – until he got a taste of Bible translation and traded his numbers for words. It’s been more than 30 years since David and Yohana Hynum were introduced to Wycliffe Bible Translators, an organization involved in the work of Bible translation around the world. Since that time, David and Yohana have played pivotal roles in translating the New Testament and the book of Psalms for the Numanggang people of Papua New Guinea.“God is using people of all backgrounds and talents for the work of Bible translation,” David said. Currently, David carries out “translation checking” for ongoing projects in Papua New Guinea. He also recruits people interested in helping accelerate Bible translation around the world.
You are invited to join David and Yohana at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 14 at Crowne Plaza–Ventura as they share about the exciting things happening in the world of Bible translation. Call 525-1447 for complimentary tickets to this special event; reservation deadline is April 6.
