Ventura County Economic Development Association supports Fagan Canyon

The Ventura County Economic Development Association (VCEDA) announced its endorsement of the Fagan Canyon neighborhood development plan for Santa Paula.

The Ventura County Economic Development Association (VCEDA) announced its endorsement of the Fagan Canyon neighborhood development plan for Santa Paula.The plan for Fagan Canyon is estimated to result in more than 5,000 jobs as well as $12.3 million in retail sales for local existing retailers, as well as more than $44 million in fees paid to the City by Centex Homes, master planner of Fagan Canyon. The development fees paid by Centex Homes will fund a wide range of local needs including two new elementary schools, vital road improvements, new parks and improving existing parks, and funding for pubic safety services, including fire and police. In addition, Centex will provide the local high school district over $11 million dollars towards securing land for a new high school, to meet the needs of both new and existing residents.“In making its decision, the VCEDA Board of Directors was impressed with the process to secure citizen input in the overall development within Fagan Canyon,” said VCEDA President Bill Buratto. “Centex Homes is to be commended for reaching out to the community in the way it did.”Buratto added: “In addition, we also recognize the beneficial economic impacts Fagan Canyon will have on Santa Paula as well as bring much needed new homes to the region.”
Rick Bianchi, community development director for Centex Homes, stated: “We are very pleased that the plan for Fagan Canyon has earned the endorsement of VCEDA.
