Fair Poster winners help open the Ventura County Fair

Left to Right: 3rd Place winner Amanda Vassaur, Fillmore, 15 years old, 1st Place winner Kayalin Akens-Irby, Ventura, 14 years old, Second Place winner Mattie Myers, Ventura, 14 years old. The three were in attendance at the opening of the Ventura County Fair Wednesday. The First Place award went to Kayalin for her rendition of horses bounding down a Ventura County hillside and onto the Carousel as Fireworks explode in the air above. The Ventura County Fair runs now through August 15 in Ventura.

Ventura County Fair now open through August 15

The Ventura County Fair opened Wednesday with a large crowd in attendance. Above is Main Street at the Fair grounds on Wednesday afternoon. The Fair continues through August 15. General Admission Prices: Adults 13 & older $10; Children 6-12 $7; Seniors 62 and older $7; Children 5 & under and Super Seniors (100 years and over) admitted free! Ride tickets are 75 cents each, and rides take between three and seven tickets. Carnival Wristband Days are Monday, August 9, Tuesday, August 10 and Thursday, August 12.

The Ventura County Fair starts today and runs through August 15. The gates open Monday through Friday at 11:00 a.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 a.m. The Fair theme this year is “Western Nights and Carnival Lights.”

Ventura County Fair promises ‘Western Nights and Carnival Lights’

It will be “Western Nights and Carnival Lights” at the 135th Annual Ventura County Fair, which opens August 4 and continues through August 15 with days and nights filled with Fair family fun. “It’s going to be a great Fair,” said Seaside Park Fair Board Director Ginger Gherardi of Santa Paula about the upcoming celebration.
