JV Lady Cards take early lead and don’t look back

The JV Lady Cardinals beat Hueneme High 20-5 this Tuesday. Santa Paula jumped ahead from the start, leading 6-3 going into the fourth inning. They quickly added 14 runs to seal the win in the bottom of the fourth. Five walks and four errors in the fourth inning, plus seven hits helped out the Lady Cards.Janesa Flores had two hits with three RBIs. Katie Lewis had two hits and three RBIs. Erika Mora recorded two hits and two RBIs. Alyssa Ramirez had three hits with three RBIs. Andrea Sliger and Larissa Luna each scored three runs. Summer Ming also had two hits.Brittney Mendoza pitched well, striking out four and allowing only three hits. “We took advantage of 11 total walks and some mistakes by Hueneme with some timely hitting of our own,” said Coach Henry Jacinto. “We made some offensive mistakes in the first inning, but we did not panic and bounced back to play a great game.”
The JV girls play Nordhoff at Home Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.
