Mrs. Jones has been presenting a new music program every year for the elementary schools in Ventura County. She is studying piano with Peter Yazbeck of Camarillo. We are always grateful to Mrs. Jones to include us in her busy schedule. It is a wonderful treat for the children to see a performer “close up.”Music appreciation is presented during the school year at the Blanchard Community Library every Wednesday at 10:30 by library volunteer Breda George.

On December 8, Mrs. Rose Ann Jones made her eighth visit to the classical music appreciation class at Blanchard Community Library.
By Breda GeorgeOn December 8, Mrs. Rose Ann Jones made her eighth visit to the classical music appreciation class at Blanchard Community Library. She brought her electronic keyboard and an array of dolls.This year Mrs. Jones presented “Adventures of Ivan,” a 20th century composition by Armenian composer Aram Katchaturian. The composition consisted of seven parts: Ivan’s Song, No Playing Today, Ivan is Sick, Horses Galloping, The Birthday Song, Cousins’ Frolic, and Natasha’s Dance. At the end of “Adventures” she played the well-known Saber Dance from Katchaturian’s Dance Suite “Gayne.”Each part was illustrated by her dolls, dressed in beautiful outfits which she had sewn herself. Mrs. Jones received a big applause from her appreciative audience.
