New emphasis on service excellence for Hispanic population
Santa Paula News
Pierce Brothers Stetler Mortuary, 128 S. 8th St. in Santa Paula, on December 1 announced that it is changing its name to Funeraria del ángel/Stetler Mortuary, effective immediately. The name change is part of a plan to more fully address the needs of Santa Paula’s growing Spanish-speaking community. Under its new name, the firm will continue in the same tradition of compassionate service for which Stetler Mortuary has been known since the early 1900s, but its offerings will be enhanced with a greater breadth of options for families of Hispanic origin. All staff members are bilingual, all literature will be available in English and Spanish, and special life celebration events to honor the deceased will be available for arrangement by professionals with a keen understanding of Latino culture and traditions.Commenting on the change, Funeral Director Jeanette Arellano said, “We are excited about our new name because it reflects the true philosophy of our staff. It signifies not only the observance of Santa Paula’s growing Hispanic presence, but also our commitment to be the mortuary of choice for families – one that understands and provides for their special needs. We are also members of the Dignity Memorial® network of funeral, cremation and cemetery providers, which means we have many more ways to help families than other funeral homes.”As a member of the Dignity Memorial network, Funeraria del ángel/Stetler Mortuary offers a broad range of exclusive benefits and products, plus creative memorialization services that celebrate the unique qualities of individual lives that have been lived. Dignity Memorial benefits include special bereavement travel fares for family and friends who must travel from out of town for the funeral, access to a grief management library, a 24-hour compassion helpline and transferability of prearranged funeral services to any of more than 1,800 other Dignity Memorial providers throughout North America.“We invite all Spanish-speaking families of Santa Paula to come and visit us at any time,” added Ms. Arellano. “They can also call me with any questions they may have about funerals. After all, they’re services that everyone will need someday.”
Ms. Arellano can be reached at Funereria del Angel/Stetler Mortuary by dialing 525-5595.
