Consuelo Velasco
Consuelo Velasco, 87, of Oxnard, passed away on Tuesday, June 15, 2004 at her residence after a lengthy illness, with her loving family at her side. Consuelo was born April 27, 1917 in San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco, Mexico.
Mrs. Velasco was a 41-year Ventura County resident, and a housewife and homemaker for her children.
Mrs. Velasco is survived by her brother, Carlos De Anda of San Juan de los Lagos, Jalisco; sons, Francisco (wife Laya) Velasco of Inglewood and Gerado (wife Teresa) Velasco of Cypress; daughter Rosa (husband Manuel) Colmenero, Sr. of Oxnard; grandchildren, Gualberto “Wally” (wife Carla) Velasco of Inglewood, Fabian Velasco of Inglewood, Daniel Velasco of Cypress, Anne Velasco of Cypress, John Paul Velasco of Cypress, Robert Velasco of Cypress, and Elizabeth Velasco of Cypress; great-grandchild Xavier “Wallito” Colmenero of Ventura; and many nieces, nephews and cousins who loved her.
Mrs. Velasco was predeceased by her husband, Francisco D. Velasco.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 18 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with a rosary at 7 p.m. at Pierce Brothers Stetler Chapel, 128 S. 8th St., Santa Paula.
The funeral mass will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, June 19 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Pierce Brothers Santa Paula Cemetery.
