Fillmore woman arrested for DUI after wild Highway 126 ride, crash

A Fillmore woman driving up to 100 mph on Highway 126 caused an accident Wednesday that injured a second motorist led to an arrest for suspicion of felony drunk driving, according to a CHP spokesman.

By Peggy KellySanta Paula TimesA Fillmore woman driving up to 100 mph on Highway 126 caused an accident Wednesday that injured a second motorist led to an arrest for suspicion of felony drunk driving, according to a CHP spokesman.Details were sketchy at press time but the accident occurred at 6:44 p.m. on Highway 126 near Old Telegraph Road and west of Fillmore, said CHP Officer Steve Reid.The suspect, 24-year-old Antonia Maria Porraf of Fillmore, was driving a 1998 Toyota Forerunner eastbound on Highway 126 at a high rate of speed and erratically.“According to witnesses, she was using all lanes,” as she traveled at speeds between 80 mph and 100 mph, said Officer Reid.“Apparently, Porraf rear ended a silver Toyota sedan,” driven by an unidentified Fillmore woman.
The crash caused both lanes of Highway 126 to be closed for almost an hour.The unidentified Fillmore woman was transported to Santa Paula Memorial Hospital for treatment of cuts and complaints of neck and back pain. She was treated for minor injuries and released.Porraf was transported to Ventura County Medical Center for a cut on her hand and complaint of neck pain.While at the hospital, Porraf was “determined to be under the influence of alcohol,” and was arrested at VCMC before being “cleared for arrest and transported to the Ventura County Jail,” Officer Reid said.Porraf was charged with a felony charge of driving under the influence, he added.
