Larry Henson
Long time Santa Paula resident, Larry Henson, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2014.
Larry is survived by his wife Willie Henson, daughter Kathy Brown, grandson Paul Russell and the newest addition to the family, great-granddaughter Raven Mack Russell.
Larry was the foreman for Gooding Ranch for over 50 years. He contributed many years to our local agriculture community. Larry retired to the Mohave Desert in 2006. He spent his last years doing what he loved best; riding buggies in the mountains with his family, collecting antique tractors, and tinkering on anything with a motor, Paul at his side. Larry was a loving and devoted husband, father; grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be forever in our hearts.
Joy R. Boyer
Sioux Falls, SD - Joy R. Boyer, 95, died Saturday, March 1, 2014, at the Good Samaritan Village in Sioux Falls, SD.
A visitation will begin at 12:00 pm Wednesday, March 4, 2014, at Miller West Funeral Chapel, 6200 W. 41st St., with the family present from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be 10:30 am Thursday, March 5, 2014, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 2425 S. Western Ave., Sioux Falls, SD with burial in Buena Vista Memorial Cemetery in Storm Lake, IA.
Joy Randolph Chilcoat, the daughter of Paul and Annie (Pulliam) Chilcoat was born May 17, 1918, in Muskogee, OK. She graduated from high school and attended one year of college.
On January 18, 1942, Joy was united in marriage with Harold Boyer in Muskogee, OK. She was employed as a retail clerk for six years. Harold died March 9, 1984.
Joy enjoyed attending church and spending time with her family.
Grateful for having shared her life are her son, Matthew Boyer and his wife, Joy, of Sioux Falls, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold; two brothers, Read and Fredrick Chilcoat; and a sister, Alice Updike.
