A very large hydroplane boat made a stop in Santa Paula Tuesday, while on its way to Mission Bay in San Diego to join a race.
The boat was parked outside International Engine Parts (IEP) on Mill Street. The U-11 Peters and May team boat will race this weekend on Mission Bay in San Diego. IEP joined the team as an engine technology partner. The firm is celebrating their 50th year doing business as a worldwide provider of turbine engine parts.
Elmo Ladevaia Jr., CEO of IEP said, “It’s always a thrill to watch Vintage Turbines spool up and compete in Motor sports. Being a part of U11 in 2013-14 will be a great way to celebrate 50 years of Global Turbine support for IEP.”
Scott Raney, co-owner of Unlimited Racing Group said, “This is a great partnership between two companies who specialize in turbine engines.”
San Diego’s Bayfair will be the last stop on the 2013 H1 Unlimited season tour. The world’s fastest hydroplanes will compete for the Bill Muncey Cup on Mission Bay.
