Three incidents on area highways occurred over the weekend, including a major solo accident on a Highway 126 Briggs Road off ramp and a tree that fell across Highway 150 and impacted traffic.

On Saturday, July 20 at about 5 a.m. a major injury crash was reported westbound on Highway 126. A single vehicle went off the off ramp at Briggs Road, hit a tree off the right shoulder of the roadway and rolled over. The tree that was struck by the vehicle was knocked down by the force of the crash.

At least one unidentified person was treated on the scene by Ventura County Fire EMTs and ambulance paramedics before being transported to an area hospital, reportedly with major injuries. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident and had no further details on the accident at press time.

Earlier there was a non-injury crash near Peck Road that also occurred on Highway 126 at about 3 a.m.

On Sunday evening, July 21 at about 6:10 p.m., Ventura County Fire personnel responded to a hazard investigation and found a large tree had fallen across Highway 150 north of Santa Paula. About 30 minutes after they arrived on scene the fire department asked for assistance from the California Highway Patrol, which responded to control traffic impacted by the tree removal effort.

There were no reports of lines down or injures and Highway 150 was cleared at about 7:50 p.m.
