The report Saturday of a victim trapped in a vehicle following a mid-city collision turned out to be not as serious as first reported. According to SPFD Captain Jerry Byrum the February 15 incident occurred at about noon in the 100 block of Pleasant Street.

Although initially reported as a serious multi-vehicle accident that drew the response of nine units, emergency responders found only one victim who had struck a parked pickup truck. The woman was sitting in the compact vehicle and although it had extensive front-end damage, she did not have to be extricated. The unidentified 56-year-old female was found to have minor injuries and was transported to Santa Paula Hospital for evaluation.
