Lady Cards hoping for first place title

The Lady Cardinal basketball team is on the way to a Frontier League title, after beating Bishop Diego this week, 42-40.
The Lady Cards played well, started the game ahead16-10 at the end of the first quarter, then at the half 20-18. After the third the ladies found themselves down 28-31, but in the fourth the Cards outscored Bishop Diego 14-9 to win 42-40.
“The girls buckled down on defense, holding Bishop’s leading scorer to 14,” said Coach Mark Blankenship. “Lizzette Ramirez had most of the defensive duty, Ciara Ramirez, Felicia Magana played well on her, as well as the rest of the team. Kayla Stockton, Elissa Rico and Felicia Magana were also huge on the glass.”
