Cardinals win over Golden Valley

It was a tight game throughout when the Cardinal JV hosted Golden Valley last week.

Both teams had their share of chances. Santa Paula’s Diego Tinajero finally ended the deadlock in the middle of the second half when he made a nice shot from 20 yards out. He hit the post on two separate occasions earlier in the game. 

Fernando Magana and Gabriel Mendoza played well defensively. The final score was 1-0.

The varsity was excited to get back on the field after a two-week break and they scored 2 goals in the first 15 minutes. Emanuel Hernandez scored the first off a corner kick and Giovanni Acosta scored the second after a beautiful combination play involving a mix of Cardinal players. The final score was 6-0. Javier Aguilar had 2 goals. Christian Cordova, and Giovanni Acosta each added one.
