The Santa Paula JV traveled to Grace Brethren of Simi Valley Friday and blasted their hosts 67-14.
The Cards improved their season record to 6-5 overall and a Frontier league record of 1 -0. Highlights for the Cardinals were: Carlos Garcia 14 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals; Jesus Nava 10 points; David Barajas 9 points, 4 rebounds, 4 steals; Corey Peck 8 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal; Noah Magana 7 points, 3 rebounds, 1 steal; Isaiah Lara 6 points; Justin Gaeta 4 points, 2 steals; Jacob Leon 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal; Joseph Garcia 2 points, 1 rebound, 1 steal; Robert Aviles 2 points, 1 rebound; and Alex Rios 2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal. Coach Alex Jamerson stated “After three losses at the Nordhoff tournament over the winter break our players really needed a huge boost in moral.”
The Cardinal varsity destroyed Grace Brethren 71-24. The Cards improved their season record to 6-9 and their Frontier League record to 1 - 0.

10 points, 3 rebounds, 4 steals, 1 blocked shot; Gabriel Diaz 8 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals; Eddie Perez 4 points, 3 rebounds, 3 steals; Isaac Ramirez 4 points, 1 rebound; Tim Garcia 4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 steals. Coach Danny Guzman stated “After four losses at the prestigious Ventura tournament over our winter break our players will be ready for our key Frontier league battle at Fillmore tonight.” Tonight’s games get underway with the frosh game at 4:00 p.m.
