Lady Card wrestlers bring home medals

The Santa Paula Girls Wrestling Team attended the Los Angeles Megatron Tournament at the Los Angeles Convention Center on December 22nd.

Santa Paula had 14 girls participate in the tournament, and five of the 14 medaled in their individual weight class.  The Santa Paula Girls overall as a team ended up with 105 points, and took 4th place, barely missing both 3rd and 2nd place by 1 and 2 points.   

Coach Mark Lopez stated, “The Santa Paula girls team is a major force to be reckoned with, from 98 to 235 pounds.  Every girl wrestles each match as though it her their last.  The team works cohesively and we have a tight family bond both on and off the mat.  The next match at home on January 5th is a great way for the community to come and watch their hometown team in action.”
