The Santa Paula High School Band and Color guard have just completed its 2012 Marching Season.
Along with dazzling the fans at home football games, performing in the stands and half-time shows, the Cardinal Marching Band has traveled all around Southern California. They performed in the Fresno State versus Hawaii half-time show and competed in Granada Hills, Moorpark, Lancaster and Camarillo.
Proudly they marched down the street representing Santa Paula in the Ventura County Fair parade, the Santa Barbara Fiestas Parade, and the Camarillo and Antelope Valley Christmas Parades. The Cardinal Band and Colorguard is made up of 76 students who work extra hours and countless weekends to prepare.
The Music of Earth, Wind and Fire and Zacatecas March elevated the Cardinals to One 3rd place, six 2nd place, and four 1st place awards, sweeping 1st place in all captions at the Camarillo Band Review against many of our local county schools. They thank all the support and dedication of our Parents and Boosters and to all the students that take pride in the work that they do.
Sponsorships for future competition and travel are always needed, they would like to thank those who have contributed to the Performing Arts and those who help keep music alive and strong in the schools.
