“A Fairgrounds Christmas” slated for Saturday, December 22

Santa Claus is coming to the Fairgrounds!
The Ventura County Fairgrounds will be celebrating “A Fairgrounds Christmas” on Saturday, December 22 in the Children’s Dell, McBride Building and Main Gate Park at the Fairgrounds. This will be the inaugural Christmas event at the Fairgrounds.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there from 10am until 6pm, visiting with all of the children and posing for Christmas photographs. Parents are encouraged to bring cameras. Decorations everywhere will provide beautiful Christmas backdrops for your family photos.
A Winter Animal exhibit will include reindeer, a miniature camel, winter foxes, bald eagle, chinchillas and other winter animals. Children will love the unlimited Jolly Jumps and Magic Castle Fun House for $6. Gourmet Food Trucks will be on hand serving sweet and savory taste treats, something for every Christmas Craving! Live Christmas music will fill the air with performances by the Jill Martini Soiree, carols sung by Teen Challenge Kid’s Choir, children’s dancing with Alma de Mexico and more.
Children will have the opportunity to shop secretly for mom and dad in the Children’s Christmas shopping mall and wrapping station. Elves will guide the children through a selection of gift items specially priced for children. When the gifts are selected, the elves will wrap them nicely so they are ready to give to mom and dad as a surprise on Christmas Day!
Last minute Christmas shopping will be available with artwork, crafts, soaps, toys, t-shirts, souvenirs, 2013 Fair “WOW!” Passes (12 Fair admissions for $36) and much more on sale for gift giving.
In the Christmas spirit of giving, visitors are invited to bring a canned food donation for FOODShare; helping to feed the hungry during the holidays and all year long.
“With only 3 days to go before Christmas Day we know that the excitement and anticipation will be unmistakable,” said Ventura County Fairgrounds CEO Barbara Quaid, “We are having ‘A Fairgrounds Christmas’ as close as possible to Christmas Day so that the community will come together and celebrate the festivities with us.”
