There won’t be a City Council meeting Monday but Deputy City Clerk Lucy Blanco indicated that council watchers should mark their calendars for December 10.
The regularly scheduled December 3 City Council meeting has been cancelled, reportedly due to the wait for the certification of votes by the County Board of Supervisors. By law, the vote must be certified by December 4.
Monday’s meeting was to be the evening that newly elected Councilman Martin Hernandez would be sworn into office along with returning Councilman Jim Tovias, who was elected to a second term of office.
The first council meeting following an election is also the evening that the council also selects a new mayor and vice mayor.
The council will hold a special meeting December 10 to be followed a week later by the second regularly scheduled meeting of the month on December 17.
