Link to Sunday morning party, gunshot victim being investigated

Ventura County Sheriffs are investigating an early Sunday morning shooting that wounded at least one known victim that may have occurred at a house party near Santa Paula.
VCSD deputies responded November 11 about 1:20 a.m. to reports of a large party and the sound of shots fired at a ranch house in the 17000 block of South Mountain Road, an unincorporated area southeast of Santa Paula. According to a spokesman, when deputies arrived on scene they found a large party of at least 100 people but none of those present was found to be injured.
While deputies were responding to the party scene, Emergency Room staff at Santa Paula Hospital reported a young man came in seeking treatment for a gunshot wound to his back. The unidentified 18-year-old was later transported by ambulance to Ventura County Medical Center with what was described as a non-life threatening wound. The victim was listed as being in stable condition.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Major Crimes Bureau is investigating whether the shooting victim was wounded at the South Mountain Road party. Those with information about the incident are asked to call the VCSD Major Crimes Bureau, 477-7000.
