Cardinal varsity finishes 2012 season with big loss at Nordhoff

The Cardinal varsity suffered a 48-0 loss to the Nordhoff Rangers Friday. Santa Paula started out okay, holding back the Nordhoff offense, but that soon changed as the Rangers found their game and took complete control of the field, running up the score with touchdown after touchdown.

One blow to the Cardinals was the loss of quarterback Christian Garcia, who apparently suffered an  ankle injury near the end of the second quarter. He was replaced at QB with Juan Carlos Magana who finished the half but never came back on the field in the second half. Corey Peck was put in to finish the game at the quarterback position. Numerous penalties and some turnovers also hurt the Cardinal effort.

Santa Paula finished the season with a 2-8 overall record and 1-4 in Tri- Valley League play.
