Carl Raymond Williams
1911-2012
Carl R. Williams, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 12, 2012, at his home in Santa Paula, CA.
He was born on January 1, 1911 to John and Lela Williams on the Orchard Farm in Santa Paula. Carl graduated from Saticoy Elementary School in 1926 and from Santa Paula High School in 1930.
Carl worked on Orchard Farm with his father. In 1933 he married Alyne Thurman (class of 32). While living at the ranch their daughter Carlyne was born. Carlyne married and had two sons, Michael and Shel.
After World War II he became a foreman at the Edwards Associates holdings between Timber Canyon Road and Toland Road east of Santa Paula, and stayed there until they merged with Limoneira Company in 1982. Following the merger with Limoneira, Carl worked for Brook Sawyer until he retired completely at age 81.
Carl and his first wife were divorced, and he married Jewel (Rowe) Wilson, who had a son Elwood (Tiny) Wilson. Elwood married Rosemary Lauridge of Santa Paula they had three children, Ron, Debbie and Jon.
He is survived by his daughter Carlyne Graves, his grandsons Michael Graves and Shel Graves, nephew Jerry Williams and wife Jo, as well as his three step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Carnis Williams.
The Family would like to thank Vikki and her family for all of their loving care.
Graveside services will be held at Santa Paula Cemetery, 380 Cemetery Rd., on Friday, November 2nd at 1 p.m.
