The Upper Ojai Search and Rescue Team has been serving the residents of West Ventura County and others for more than 60 years.
The Upper Ojai Unit operates as part of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, and consists of approximately 30 volunteers. Team Members contribute hundreds of hours annually to training and operations and missions and are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Some years have seen 1500+ man-hours on rescue operations.
The diverse activities of the Ojai Team include locating overdue hikers, climbing and rope rescues, rescuing swift-water victims, caring for mountain bike/motorcycle accident victims, and searching for victims of crimes. Searches go forward day or night regardless of weather conditions.
The Team receives limited financial support. We are asking for help to raise supplemental funds so the Upper Ojai Search and Rescue Team can replace and improve equipment in order to provide high levels of service in our area.
A fundraiser will be held at *Boccali’s Restaurant in Ojai on October 7th at 4:00 p.m. Please call for information or tickets to the event: Kevin Hartigan - Day: 805-643-9898; Evening: 805-218-6347 Fundraiser Website - Ojaisar.yolasite.com
