Cardinal varsity drops two games to Grace Brethren

The Cardinal varsity boys lost to the Grace Brethren nine twice last week in Frontier League play.

In the first game, played at Grace Brethren, the Santa Paula boys lost 16-2.  The Cards broke up a no-hitter in the sixth inning when Alex Catalan got a hit.  He went 1 for 2 for the day.  Steven Kohr started for the Cards and took the loss.

Grace Brethren came to Santa Paula for the second game and went away with a 14-6 win.

Santa Paula got four runs in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh.  Gabriel Diaz went 2 for 3 with 1 run.  Tony Penuelas was 1 for 2 with a double and two RBIs.  Gabriel Carrera went 1 for 3 with a run and 1 RBI.

The Cardinals play their final game of the season at Carpinteria Thursday at 3:30 pm.
