Lady Cards play well, but lose to Bishop

The Lady Cardinal volleyball teams traveled to Bishop Diego last week. The frosh girls lost in two, 18-25 and 11-25. The JV also lost in two, 5-25 and 18-25.The varsity lost in four, 21-25, 26-24, 18-25 and 23-25. Coach Gina Morgan says, although they lost the girls played the best they have all season. “I think this game was a turning point in their season,” Morgan said. “I think they will win most if not all of the rest of their games.”Leading varsity scorers were: Carissa Jimenez 10 digs, 2 service points, 8 kills and 2 blocks; Irene Sandoval 9 digs, 13 service points, 7 kills, 1 block and 3 aces; Diana Hardin 9 digs, 2 service points, 4 kills, 1 ace and 1 block and Katie Lewis 2 digs, 6 service points, 2 kills, 3 aces and 19 assists.
The girls host Malibu tomorrow with the frosh game starting at 4:00 p.m.
