Phil Drescher retires as United Water Conservation District’s general counsel

At its Board meeting on June 6, United Water Conservation District recognized Phil Drescher who will be retiring as the District’s General Counsel on June 30 after 30 years in that position. United’s Board of Directors adopted a resolution commending Mr. Drescher on his long service and noting the consummate skills and voice of reason which he brought to the job of keeping the District free of legal trouble.In presenting Mr. Drescher with a framed copy of the resolution, President Orr stated that he has valued most Phil’s “decency and commonsense, and how he has always counseled the District to do the right thing.”A lifelong resident of California, Mr. Drescher began his law practice when he joined the Ventura County District Attorney’s office in 1963 after graduation from Stanford Law School. He entered private practice in 1965, and in the ensuing years has served many clients in Ventura County, including terms as the City Attorney for the cities of Santa Paula and Ojai. In 1977 United named Mr. Drescher as its General Counsel, and he has since served continuously in that position, successfully representing the District in innumerable issues.
Assuming the position of General Counsel for the District following Mr. Drescher’s retirement will be Anthony Trembley of Nordman Cormany Hair & Compton.
