Stanton R. Spencer Stanton R. Spencer passed away on February 20, 2007 in Auburn, California. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Maureen (nee Sullivan); and beloved children Kevin Spencer (Carol) of Klamath Falls, OR, Suzie Marin (Dennis) of Roseville, CA, Sandie Clendon (Dale) of Thousand Oaks, CA, Mary Ellen Brown (Steve) of Corvallis, OR, and Michelle Hall (Anthony) of Burlingame, CA; treasured by his six grandsons and six granddaughters; and the loved brother of Jody Spencer of Los Angeles, CA. Stan leaves many cherished long time friends.He was September 30, 1931, Long Beach, CA, the son of Carl and Charlotte Spencer, and raised in Santa Paula. He graduated Santa Paula High School in 1949, and St. Mary’s College in Moraga, CA in 1953.Stan served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957. He joined his father’s well-known Santa Paula business, Spencer’s Furniture Store, and then spent 25 years at Limoneira Company until his retirement in 1996.He was a scoutmaster for five years, sharing his love of the outdoors. Stan and Maureen and family vacationed at Lake Tahoe every summer.In 2000, Stan and Maureen relocated to Lake of the Pines in Auburn to be closer to their family living in Northern California. He volunteered his time to the Auburn Food Closet and was a member of the Lake of the Pines “Pinesmen.” Stan enjoyed painting on the deck of his lakeside home, teaching his grandchildren to fish, and his trips to Ireland.The family wishes to thank Stan’s doctors and wonderful hospital staff at Sutter Auburn Faith Hospital.Memorial Mass and reception will be held at St. Teresa Catholic Church, 11600 Atwood Rd., Auburn, CA 95603, on Monday, February 26 at 11 a.m.Remembrances may be made to Blanchard Community Library, 119 N. 8th St., Santa Paula, CA 93060.Arrangements by Lassila Funeral, 551 Grass Valley Hwy., Auburn, CA 95603, (530) 885-6271.Eleanore I. HoscheitEleanore I. (Bliven) Hoscheit, 97, of Santa Paula, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully on February 20, 2007, with her daughters Marie and Sharon by her side.Eleanore was born on February 9, 1910 in Bourbon, Indiana to William R. and Amanda V. (Flowers) Bliven. As a young girl, they moved to Barron, Wisconsin, where Eleanore attended Barron High School.She married Elmer F. Hoscheit on December 1, 1927. They lived and farmed in Hillsdale, Wisconsin until 1950, when they moved to Ventura, California, and later to Santa Paula.Eleanore was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, daughter Norma, son Gilbert, mother and father, William Sr. and Amanda Bliven, sister Genevieve Shackleton of Fillmore, and brother, William Bliven Jr.She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Marie L. (Hoscheit) and Richard Bonds of Santa Paula, and daughter and son-in-law Sharon (Hoscheit) and Frank Gangl of Deer Lodge Montana; sister-in-law Beatrice Bliven of Hillsdale, Wisconsin; daughter-in-law Marie Hoscheit of New Port, Michigan; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. February 23 at Funeraria del ángel Stetler Mortuary, 128 S. 8th St., Santa Paula. Graveside services will be held at the Dallas Cemetery in Dallas, Wisconsin.

Chavez, 50, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at Santa Paula Hospital after a long term illness. She was born on August 23, 1956 here in Santa Paula.Kathy was a resident of Ventura County for 50 years, having graduated from Santa Paula High School. She spent time working for her community, and loved to volunteer for Boys & Girls Club and Brown Bag (Food Share of Santa Paula). She enjoyed making rosaries, drawing, and crafts.Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Henry G. Chavez. She is survived by her mother, Antonia H. Chavez; brother, Michael H. Chavez; four lovely dogs, Bebita Chavez (Fat Girl), Chiquita Chavez (Weda), Shakita Chavez (Black Girl), and Panfilo; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and many, many dear friends whom she cherished.Special thanks to all the Nurses at FMC – Santa Paula Dialysis Center. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to FMC – Santa Paula Dialysis Center, 242 E.
